Night Owl Lacquer “She Believed She Could, So She Did”: Polish Pickup December 2017

I’m so embarrassed that it took me so long to use this gorgeous flakie-filled thermal from December’s Polish Pickup! New to Polish Pickup? Each month, PPU has a theme voted on by fans; indie polish makers then create their own polish based on their interpretation of that theme. The December theme was Holidays Around the World. “She Believed She Could, So She Did” was based on International Women’s Day.

“She Believed She Could, So She Did” is a purple to pink thermal with scattered holographic flakes and fuchsia flakies.

Here’s a close-up shot of all of that commotion!

Here is a shot of this shade in its completely cold state, a gorgeous royal purple. In this state, the metallic flakies appear more fuchsia.

And, here it is in its completely warm state, a bright pink. In this state, the metallic flakies appear more purple.

This polish had an easy to work with formula that took two coats to reach full opacity. One problem I had with this polish was getting the flakies to stick down on the polish. Several of the fuchsia flakies stuck up off of the nail even after I added top coat. Unfortunately, the few flakes that were sticking up were pulled off throughout the week and pulled off the polish underneath them as well. If you’re careful with your application process, you may be able to adjust the flakes and get them to lay flat; if not, pay extra attention to any flakes that are sticking out!
