Girly Bits “No Fawkes Given”

I’m always thrilled to find another Harry Potter-inspired polish to add to my collection! Today I have a brilliant red from Girly Bits Cosmetics that was sold through Hella Handmade Creations in their April pre-sale. I just got this polish in the mail a couple days ago and had to put it on immediately!

This shade was inspired by Fawkes the phoenix from the Harry Potter series. This polish was the first in a series of Harry Potter-themed polishes made by Girl Bits and sold through Hella Handmade Creations.

I don’t usually like to use “props” for my manicure photos, but I couldn’t help but pair this shade with this gorgeous Harry Potter Bloomsbury cover art.

In indoor lighting and under my artificial lighting, No Fawkes Given appears to be more of an orange-leaning red.

Here’s a close-up shot of this shade under the same lighting. This color captures the fiery-red feathers of Fawkes perfectly!

Outside, in direct sunlight, this shade turned into more of a dark red with a noticeable golden shimmer.

No Fawkes Given is packed full of gorgeous holographic glitters that are absolutely mesmerizing in the sun! The holographic effect is perfect for a shade representative of Fawkes the phoenix; the holographic rainbows remind me of Fawkes being reborn.

This was my first-ever polish from Girly Bits, and I was not disappointed! The formula was great and the color was opaque in two easy coats of polish. I definitely can’t wait to see what future Harry Potter-inspired shades Girly Bits has to share over the next few months through Hella Handmade Creations!
