Polish Pickup December 2018 (Cameo Colours, Ethereal Lacquer, Chirality, Seventy Seven Lacquer)

This month I am combining my Polish Pickup swatches into one post! This month I have shades from Cameo Colours, Ethereal Lacquer, Chiralty, and Seventy Seven Lacquer to share.

New to Polish Pickup? Every month, PPU has a theme voted on by fans. Tons of indie makers then create a polish inspired by that theme. You can order as many shades from any maker participating that month for a flat rate of $3 shipping in the U.S. You can learn more about PPU on their website here! This month’s theme is “enchanted forest”, and these polishes will be available from December 7-10th on the Polish Pickup website. For the month of December, PPU will not be a pre-order, meaning that these shades will all have  cap, but they will ship much faster than usual! This means the women and makers behind PPU can have a joyous holiday season, and you’ll get your pretties even sooner.

First up is “Keebler Paradise” from Cameo Colours, which was inspired by an elven tree. This shade will have a cap of 80 bottles of polish.

Keebler Paradise is a deep mossy green base with a golden magnetic effect, silver holographic microflakes, and red/bronze/copper chrome flakes.

I used two coats of polish for my swatch photos. I used a polish magnet on my second coat of polish and again over top coat. I usually hold the magnet over the wet polish for 20-30 seconds.

Ethereal Lacquer created “Spellfrost”, a beautiful sheer polish that can be used on its own or as a topper. The cap for this shade is still being decided.

Spellfrost is a pale periwinkle jelly with glowing violet shimmer, a blend of iridescent flakes, and a touch of micro holographic flakes.

Here is Spellfrost used as a topper over my favorite one-coat black polish from 1850 Artisan Lacquer. I used one coat of black and one coat of Spellfrost on top.

Here’s a close-up of this beautiful combo!

“A Gathering of Faeries” from Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer was inspired by an enchanted forest in the evening. This shade will have a cap of 50 polishes.

A Gathering of Faeries has a dust grey base with a hint of purple, plus holographic pigment, pink shimmer, copper sparks, taupe microflakies, violet shimmer, and clear holographic pigment.

I used three coats of polish for these swatches. This shade would also make a beautiful topper!

Chirality created “Bewitching”, a beautiful blue. This shade has a cap of 46 bottles.

Bewitching is a medium blue polish with strong purple shimmer, black and purple microglitters, black and purple shreds, blue to purple shifting microglitter, and sparkling dark blue microglitter.

I used two coats of polish for my swatch photos. The flakies applied beautifully across the nail as well.
