Hella Handmade Creations December 2018: Part 1

Another month, another set of Hella Handmade Creations swatches! Keep reading for part 1 of my swatches for the December HHC pre-order. You will also notice that a few of HHC’s usual brands are missing from the swatches this month; don’t panic! Several brands are taking the month of December off for the holidays, but will return to HHC in January.

New to Hella Handmade Creations? Every month, HHC offers exclusive polishes from your favorite indie nail polish brands during a week-long pre-sale. The December pre-sale will be open from December 14th at 12:01 AM EST until December 21 at 11:59 PM Hawaiian on Hella Handmade Creations’ website.  You can buy as many polishes as you want during the pre-sale. Each brand participating in HHC has picked their own theme to create specially inspired polishes.

This month Ethereal Lacquer is changing their HHC theme to Mythical Creatures. This beautiful shade was inspired by the unicorn. “Mystical” is a blurple jelly full of red to green shimmer, a touch of original unicorn pee pigment, holographic flakies, and red to green as well as blue to violet iridescent flakes. This shade will retail for $12.50 and has no cap. This polish has a beautiful formula and was opaque in two coats of polish for me.

Turtle Tootsie was inspired by Marvel to create “Don’t Play Innocent with Me”. Don’t Play Innocent with Me is a grape jelly purple with aurora shimmer and icy blue-green sparks. This shade will retail for $11.00 and has no cap. I found this shade to be opaque in three coats of polish.

Native War Paints created “Fun and Games”, which was inspired by the Native American culture and history.  Fun and Games is a white crelly with neon green glitter, blue and red micro glitter, gold, green, red, blue and violet flakes, cyan-blue-red shifting shimmer and a touch of holo. This  shade will be $12.50 with a cap of 200 bottles of polish. I used three coats of polish for my swatch photos.

Colors by Llarowe created “It Will Rain”, inspired by Bruno Mars. This shade is described as a smokey grey crelly with scattered holographic and original unicorn pee pigment.  It Will Rain will retail for $12.00 and has no cap. I used three thin coats of polish for my swatch photos.

Illyrian was inspired by The Craft to create “So Shall It Be”, which will retail for $13.00 and has no cap. So Shall It Be is described as a dark blue-grey tinted base packed with holographic sparkles, copper shimmer, red/green aurora shimmer, plus pink/gold and green/pink iridescent flakies. This shade had a fantastic formula and was opaque in two coats of polish.

“Paranoid and Complicated” from Seventy Seven Lacquer was inspired by female rocker Shirley Manson, the lead singer of Garbage. Paranoid and Complicated is described as a deepened turquoise creme base with clear holographic pigment and pink-red shimmer.  This polish will be available for $12.00 with a cap of 50 bottles. This shade was opaque for me in three coats of polish.

Lilypad Lacquer was inspired by the Zodiac to create “Sagittarius”, a lavender-toned pastel fuchsia holographic with purple, pink, and blue microflakies as well as pink/purple shimmer. This shade will be $15.00 with no cap. This shade was opaque in 2-3 coats of polish for me.

Femme Fatale was inspired by Stranger Things to create “1984”. This polish is a triphase pink to orange to red shifting thermal with intense gold shimmer. This shade will be $14.00 and has a cap of 75 bottles of polish. This shade was opaque in 2-3 coats of polish and does dry down matte. First up are some shots of this shade in the full triphase transition. The transition between the three colors is subtle, but still absolutely stunning!

Next up is a shot that shows the coldest state, this bright red with the intense gold shimmer.

Finally, a shot of this shade in its warmest state, this bubble-gum pink with the same strong gold shimmer.

The polishes shown in this post were sent to me for free in exchange for swatching and my honest review. Thank you so much for reading!
