This year for Black Friday Pahlish introduced several new Harry Potter-inspired collections! I purchased several shades, including shades from the Unforgiveable Curses collection, the Fantastic Beasts collection, and the limited edition Hogwarts Founders Bespoke collection. I also got the exclusive Black Friday polish for purchases of $50 or more. If you love Harry Potter as much as I do, keep scrolling to see these stunning shades!
First up is “Avada Kedavra” from the Unforgiveable Curses collection. In the Harry Potter universe, the spell Avada Kedavra is the killing curse; Harry Potter is the only known survivor of this curse.
Avada Kedavra has a dark charcoal gray base with emerald green shimmer. This shade was opaque for me in three coats of polish.
Next up are my shades from the Fantastic Beasts collection. “Grindlewald” was hands down my favorite polish from my Black Friday purchase!
Grindlewald is a grey-toned medium purple crelly that is packed full of gorgeous gold flakies. This shade was opaque in two coats of polish for me.
“Polyjuice” is a stunning red inspired by the potion in the Harry Potter universe used to allow one to assume the form of someone else.
This shade has a dark red crelly base with red to green to gold shifting shimmer. In some lighting this polish appears a lot more burgundy or magenta; however, in the perfect lighting you can really see the gorgeous green to gold shift as seen in the second shot below!This shade was opaque for me in three coats of polish.
Lastly I’m going to share the two shades from my order that are sadly no longer available. However, they are gorgeous, so I have to share the swatches! “Expelliarmus!” was the exclusive free gift with purchases for orders of $50 or more on Black Friday. This is a spell in the Harry Potter universe used to disarm someone.
Expelliarmus is a blue-leaning light teal holographic with holographic flakes and a slight green shimmer. This shade was opaque in three coats of polish for me.
Finally, we have “Rowena” from the Black Friday exclusive Hogwarts Founders Bespoke collection. This shade was inspired by Ravenclaw house founder Rowena Ravenclaw. I’m a Ravenclaw, so obviously I had to have this polish!
Rowena is a dark blue with intense turquoise to purple shifting shimmer; the shift is so intense that this shade looks like a multichrome polish. This shade is also packed with holographic glitter and flakies. This shade was opaque in two coats of polish for me.
