Hella Handmade Creations January 2019 Swatches (Part 1)

Happy 2019! To kick off the new year, I have some gorgeous new polishes coming this January to Hella Handmade Creations. Don’t forget to check out part 2 of my swatches with several more January HHC shades right here!

New to Hella Handmade Creations? Every month, HHC offers exclusive polishes from your favorite indie nail polish brands during a week-long pre-sale. The October pre-sale will be open from January 14th at 12:01 AM EST until January 21 at 11:59 PM Hawaiian on Hella Handmade Creations’ website.  You can buy as many polishes from any of the participating brands as you want during the pre-sale. Each brand participating in HHC has picked their own theme to create specially inspired polishes.

Ethereal Lacquer “Enchanted Grotto” has a bright blue jelly base with aqua color shifting iridescent flakies and an enchanting red to green shifting shimmer and was inspired by mermaids. My swatches show this polish in two coats of polish. This shade has a fantastic formula and is absolutely beautiful in all different types of lighting. This shade will retail for $12.50 and has no cap.

Seventy Seven Lacquer was inspired by female rocker Maria Brink to create “I Am Your Sinner”, a hot pink creme with a subtle linear holographic effect. This shade has a creamy formula and is opaque in two coats of polish. This shade will retail for $12.50 and has a cap of 100 bottles of polish.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer created a beautiful flakie-filled shade called “This Sudden, Curious Act of Extortion”. This polish was inspired by The Fairy Queen from The Magicians. This shade is described as a nude-leaning white jelly filled with green shifting shimmer, holographic microflakes, aqua/green/purple shifting iridescent flakes, and copper/gold/green shifting iridescent flakes. This polish will retail for $12.50 and has no cap. The application was wonderful and the flakies spread very easily across the nail!

Blush Lacquers was inspired by The Pink Panther to create “Pinkerella”, a cool toned purple magenta linear holographic packed with small pink holographic glitters and large iridescent shifting glitters in pink, purple, blue, gold, orange, and red. This shade will retail for $11.50 and has no cap. To get as many of the large iridescent glitters onto the nail, I shook my bottle between every 2-3 coats. This shade applies beautifully and is opaque in 2 coats of polish. In the final swatch of this shade you can see it under direct sunlight where the holographic effect is simply magnificent!

Lilypad Lacquer was inspired by the Zodiac to create the next shade in their series, “Capricorn”. This polish has a grey holographic base and is packed with multichrome shifting microflakies. This shade applies beautifully in two coats of polish. This shade will be $15.00 and has no cap.

Grace-full was inspired by DC character Killer Frost to create “Frost Fatale”, a bright blue holographic with an icy blue shimmer glow and scattered holographic microflakies. This polish was fully opaque in two easy coats of polish. This shade will be $12.00 and has a cap of 75 bottles.

Supernatural Lacquer created “This Must be What Going Mad Feels Like”, a white crelly with a blue/teal/purple aurora glow, color shifting blue flakes, baby blue holographic shards, and scattered holographic. This shade was inspired by Firefly and will retail for $11.50 with no cap. My swatches are shown in two coats of polish but can be built up for a more opaque base.

My Indie Polish was inspired by Shameless to create “Grammy’s Back”, a medium grey crelly holographic base with a slight purple shimmer. I found this shade to be opaque in two coats of color. This polish will be $12.50 and has a cap of 50 bottles.

Girly Bits “I Must Not Tell Lies” was inspired by everyone’s least favorite villain from the Harry Potter series: Dolores Umbridge. This shade is a slightly metallic magenta pink that is packed with holographic shimmer as well as beautiful orange to pink to yellow shifting flakies. Below you can see a shot of this shade in indirect light where the gorgeous flakies stand out beautifully! This shade has a semi-sheer base but reaches opacity in two coats of polish; the flakies spread very easily across the nail. This shade will retail for $13.00 and has no cap.

Turtle Tootsie was inspired by The Beatles to create “Sir Paul”, a stunning trithermal that shifts from aqua green to purple to denim blue and is packed with gold holographic microglitters, gold flakies, purple chameleon flakies, and holographic. This shade will retail for $12.00 and has a cap of 80 bottles. This shade was opaque in two coats of polish and has a wonderful formula. Below you can see swatches of this polish in the full trithermal transition, the coldest state, and the warmest state.

MckFresh created “Valor” which is inspired by Pokémon. This shade is a trithermal that shifts from orange to bright red to dark maroon and is packed with orange, gold, and red glitters plus scattered holographic. This shade will be $14.50 and has a cap of 40 bottles. I found this shade to be opaque in two coats of polish and the formula was very easy to work with. Below are swatches of this shade in the full transition, in the coldest state, and in the warmest state.
